POGO “A Silver Soiree” gala held at the Liberty Grand raised over $400,000. The sold-out 25th anniversary event is an annual celebration of the courage of children with cancer and the achievements of the Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario (POGO). One of the highlights of the evening featured a raffle by Tiffany & Co., and a live auction. Chakra Indian Restaurant, Toronto’s newest culinary hotspot located at 2497 Yonge Street, just north of Eglinton Avenue at Castlefield Avenue, celebrated its grand opening. The restaurant is inspired by and designed around the wonderful oils and sketches of well-known American artist Gregory Burns. It was a night of mouth-watering tastes, Tunes DJ'd by Mint, Nickel Brook Micro Brewed Organic Beer, Kingfisher Lager, and a special appearance by the original "Kid Rock". The Society took in some good old-fashioned sin at their latest event, Raunchy Revue that brought back the excitement of saloons and burlesque halls last Saturday at Revival, 783 College St. W. Toronto’s top talents were brought together for a night designed to blow your mind. Hosted in a 1920’s dinner theater setting, the Raunchy Revue featured circus stars, human oddities, and avant-garde thespians. The performers were the real deal, not merely nostalgic amateurs. MuchMusic VJ Sarah Taylor gave back last night with a benefit helping the community that helped her. La Fête à la Tête for SickKids took place last night at Tattoo Rock Parlour on Queen Street West. All proceeds went directly to The Division of Neurosurgery at The Hospital for Sick Children.
